Braida

Braida Winery was founded in 1961. The winery's founder, Giuseppe Bologna, is a master who loves "boxing" (a traditional sport in Piedmont). He once won the boxing championship, so he was nicknamed Brada. In addition to being a coachman, Giuseppe Bologna also loves grapes and grows and produces super Barbera wines. He fermented the grapes in French oak barrels to produce fine wines that successfully and unexpectedly had the famous Bricco dell' Uccello. Bricco dell' Uccellone is BRAIDA's flagship wine and is now one of the most famous Italian wines. His son Giacomo Bologna inherited his father's vineyard and nickname and his passion for the land and grapes. Giacomo Bologna passed on this passion to his wife (Anna) and his children (Raffaella and Beppe). With the passing of Giacomo Bologna, Anna and her two children worked hard to keep the winery in operation to continue to realize her husband's dream. Faced with the difficulties of the process, Raffaella and Beppe spent 2-3 years constantly looking for suitable grapes to produce high-quality wines. By chance, when Beppe put on BRAIDA clothes to revisit the vineyard, the vineyard's owner noticed his clothes. After chatting, I found out that Beppe's grandfather was a friend and foe who played boxing together back then. Because of this fate, the owner promised Beppe that all high-quality grapes in the future can be given priority to Beppe. Therefore, BRADA's future grapes can be guaranteed to be the best.

Grignolino

Grignolino is a red Italian wine grape variety that is widely planted in the Piedmont region. It produces light-colored wines and rosés with intense fruit aromas, acidity, and tannins. The name Grignolino is derived from the word grignole, which means "many pips" in the local Piedmontese dialect of the Asti region. The abundance of pips, or seeds, contributes to the wine's strong, bitter tannins. With gentle and slow pressings, modern winemakers attempt to avoid excess tannins. Grignolino is produced in three Denominazione di origine controllata (DOC) areas: Asti, Monferrato Casale, and Piemonte Grignolino.

Piedmont

Piedmont is in northwestern Italy, while Burgundy is in France. As early as Roman times, Piedmont has been known worldwide for its high-quality wines. Now, the region has 16 D.O.C.G. (guaranteed regional wines) and 44 D.O.C. (designated regional wines), far ahead of other Italian areas. Piedmont is located in the hills of the Alps. The vineyards of the producing area are almost all on the hillsides, the land is well structured, and the soil is fertile. It has a continental climate with cold winters and hot summers. The temperature difference between day and night during the grape ripening period is significant. The grape skin can gather more flavor substances, and the brewed wine has a more robust and lasting aroma.
