Cantine San Giorgio
Cantine San Giorgio is located in the Puglia wine region, Italy. It was initially a wine cooperative established in 1962 and was acquired by Gian Andrea, the owner of Tinazzi winery, in 2012. The iconic building of the winery of St. George is a tower called Torre Vinaria. The tower has six floors, one underground and the other five above ground, with a total height of 21 meters. With the help of gravity, the wine in the high tower can flow from the upper stainless steel barrels into the lower container, avoiding the negative impact of the local hot climate zone.
The winery is located in the Puglia region. It is a beautiful farmhouse in Casino, close to the Salento peninsula. It mainly produces excellent Puglia wines. It is now the most significant estate in southern Puglia. Central management by Giorgio.St. George's uses good quality cement fermenters, the thickness, and texture of which helps keep the temperature of the wines in them constant, which has become popular again in recent years. In 2020, a new production winery will be inaugurated in Faggiano (TA), the flagship of modernity and automation, maintaining the quality and tradition of Apulian wines. With the advent of new wineries, ancient tombs have been discovered within the winery's confines, which further links it to the practice and antiquity of the region.
Negroamaro
Negroamaro grapes have deep skin color; aromas are dominated by blackberry fruit, supplemented by soil, herbs, and spices; tannins are medium to thick. There are two theories about the origin of Heimanro. First: Heimanro is like the literal meaning of Negroa (black) and amaro (bitter), which indicates this variety's dark grape skin and salty taste. Special attention is paid to the fact that amaro is not a real "bitter taste.", but refers to a "salty" or "non-fruity" flavor. Second: Heimanro is translated in Latin and Greek, meaning "deep black," so amaro is not translated as "bitter". The well-known producing area in Puglia in southern Italy and the sub-producing area Salento produce the best black manor red wine. Its legal classification is Salice Salento DOC. There is a warm Mediterranean climate here, which allows the grapes to get full maturity. This variety is drought tolerant, so Puglia, which does not receive much rainfall, is suitable for growing Black Manor.
Puglia
The Puglia region, located in the east of Italy, has a very long winemaking history and a unique local grape variety. Puglia is the second-largest wine producer in Italy, after Veneto. Puglia has always been considered one of Italy's most important wine regions.
Puglia has a Mediterranean climate, the soil is rich in calcium, and the topsoil is rich in iron, which is very suitable for grape growing. With year-round sunshine and a dry climate, Puglia is the place to be if you're looking for a red wine with ripe fruit and rich aromas.
Most Puglia red wines are ripe, full-bodied, and pair well with spiced meats. Puglia's wine producers all have one thing in common; they focus on producing indigenous grape varieties, such as Negroamaro, Primitivo, and Bombino Nero.
