Giovanni Manzone

Giovanni Manzone is a winery located in Monfort d'Alba, Piedmont, at an altitude of 450 meters, and 1500 feet. Monforte d'Alba is the wine region that produces the famous Barolo. Manzon owns 15 kilometers of land in Alba and 5 kilometers in Barolo. It is a small winery with 8 hectares of vineyards. The entire winery produces only high-quality wines, limited to around 50,000 bottles per year, using only estate-grown grapes. The vineyard's elevation (350-500m) is steep, and the terroir is fast, naturally planted with low-density vines. In 1965, the owners Giovanni and Stefano Manzone made their first wine and, in the same year, purchased their most important estate on the Gramolere hill in Monforted d'Alba. In 2005, after graduating from a prestigious winemaking school, Mauro Manzone started the winery with his father Giovanni, continuing his father's family tradition. Their production process is all manual production, no machines are used, and the principle of maintaining the natural environment is the principle of never using pesticides and fertilizers. Focusing on high-quality winemaking, only around 50,000 bottles are produced each year. The winery mainly produces world-renowned Barolo, Barbera, and Dolceto. The wines they have are also highly rated by world wine critics.

Dolcetto

Dolcetto is a black Italian wine grape variety that is widely grown in the Piedmont region of northwest Italy. The Italian word dolcetto means "little sweet one," but it is unclear whether the name originally referred to the grape's sugar levels: it could be derived from the name of the hills where the vine is grown. In any case, the wines made are almost always dry. They can be tannic and fruity, with moderate or decidedly low acidity, and are typically intended to be consumed within a few years of release.

Piedmont

Piedmont is in northwestern Italy, while Burgundy is in France. As early as Roman times, Piedmont has been known worldwide for its high-quality wines. Now, the region has 16 D.O.C.G. (guaranteed regional wines) and 44 D.O.C. (designated regional wines), far ahead of other Italian areas. Piedmont is located in the hills of the Alps. The vineyards of the producing area are almost all on the hillsides, the land is well structured, and the soil is fertile. It has a continental climate with cold winters and hot summers. The temperature difference between day and night during the grape ripening period is significant. The grape skin can gather more flavor substances, and the brewed wine has a more robust and lasting aroma.
