Vigna Traverso

Vigna Traverso is mainly famous for its white wine, and the quality of its red wine is also excellent, which is highly appreciated by Italian and international critics. The Tessano winery is located in the city of Prepotto in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of northeastern Italy. The Alps and Austria border it to the north, Slovenia to the east, and the Adriatic Sea to the south. The area is backed by mountains, faces the sea, and has a unique climate. It is hot from morning to afternoon and cold after nightfall. Therefore, grapes can grow slowly and for a long time.Chateau Tesanao branched off from Ornella Molon in 1998. Therefore, Traverso is also run by the Ornella Molon family. The name "Traverso" refers to the male owner of the winery. This winery also takes quality as the primary basis, introduces a variety of modern planting equipment, and produces high-quality grapes with high-density planting methods. The vineyards of Chateau Tesanao have 45 hectares of land and are planted with 16 proprietary grape varieties. Its mid-mountain location has the ideal soil, climate, and altitude to produce high-quality, attractive grapes.

Merlot

Merlot is a dark blue–colored wine grape variety, that is used as both a blending grape and for varietal wines. The name Merlot is thought to be a diminutive of merle, the French name for the blackbird, probably a reference to the color of the grape. Its softness and "fleshiness", combined with its earlier ripening, make Merlot a popular grape for blending with the sterner, later-ripening Cabernet Sauvignon, which tends to be higher in tannin.
