Braida
Braida Winery was founded in 1961. The winery's founder, Giuseppe Bologna, is a master who loves "boxing" (a traditional sport in Piedmont). He once won the boxing championship, so he was nicknamed Brada. In addition to being a coachman, Giuseppe Bologna also loves grapes and grows and produces super Barbera wines. He fermented the grapes in French oak barrels to produce fine wines that successfully and unexpectedly had the famous Bricco dell' Uccello. Bricco dell' Uccellone is BRAIDA's flagship wine and is now one of the most famous Italian wines. His son Giacomo Bologna inherited his father's vineyard and nickname and his passion for the land and grapes. Giacomo Bologna passed on this passion to his wife (Anna) and his children (Raffaella and Beppe). With the passing of Giacomo Bologna, Anna and her two children worked hard to keep the winery in operation to continue to realize her husband's dream. Faced with the difficulties of the process, Raffaella and Beppe spent 2-3 years constantly looking for suitable grapes to produce high-quality wines. By chance, when Beppe put on BRAIDA clothes to revisit the vineyard, the vineyard's owner noticed his clothes. After chatting, I found out that Beppe's grandfather was a friend and foe who played boxing together back then. Because of this fate, the owner promised Beppe that all high-quality grapes in the future can be given priority to Beppe. Therefore, BRADA's future grapes can be guaranteed to be the best.
James Suckling - Asia's most influential wine critic
James Suckling became a wine lover from a young age by sharing his father's wine collection and has been a wine critic for more than 40 years. From 1981 to 2010, I published wine review articles in the well-known wine magazine Wine Spectator. His JS scoring system is a scoring system with the most 100 points for wine, and the taste is lighter than that of Rebort Parker, which is sought after by most wine lovers.
Barbera- Italian red grapes with high acidity
Barbera is a red Italian wine grape variety that, as of 2000, was the third most-planted red grape variety in Italy (after Sangiovese and Montepulciano). It produces good yields and is known for deep color, full body, low tannins, and high levels of acidity
Piedmont
Piedmont is a plateau region located in the Eastern United States. It is situated between the Atlantic coastal plain and the main Appalachian Mountains, stretching from New York in the north to central Alabama in the south. The Piedmont Province is a physiographic province of the larger Appalachian division which consists of the Gettysburg-Newark Lowlands, the Piedmont Upland, and the Piedmont Lowlands sections.
Excellent geographical conditions
Piedmont is located in the hills of the Alps, and its name "Piedmont" means "foothill" in Italian. The vineyards of the producing area are almost all on the rolling hillsides, the land is well structured, and the soil is fertile. It has a continental climate with cold winters and hot summers. The significant temperature difference between day and night during the grape ripening period enables the grape skin to gather more flavor substances. The wine produced has a solid and lasting aroma. The grapes used for winemaking in Piedmont are almost exclusively native varieties and are used primarily to make single-varietal wines. There are wide varieties of grapes here; the important red grape varieties include Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Dolcetto; the main white grape variety is Moscato. Among them, Nebbiolo is the highest-ranking grape variety, and Sangiovese and Sangiovese are the two main grape varieties in Italy and are well-known in the global wine industry. Moscato is Piedmont's most representative white grape variety and can be used to make Asti Spumante.
